In this talk, she shares research on the material and cultural study of color through the lens of contemporary printmaking art.
Speaker Spotlight: Laura Berman
Laura Crehuet Berman is a Professor at the where she has taught in the Printmaking Department since 2002. She creates images inspired by the natural world that layer time, space, form and color together.
Berman's prints are widely collected and her work has been featured in the books聽聽(Fine/Bloomsbury Books, 2020),聽聽(Standish, Rooney/Schiffer Publishing, 2014) and聽聽(Noyce/A&C Black, 2006). She has exhibited at galleries and museums internationally in over 150 exhibitions.
She works with numerous fine print and commercial publishers and her work is represented by galleries: (Kansas City), (Morgan Hill, CA), (Washington, D.C.), (Des Moines), and (New York City).
Since 2020 Berman has published , an online archive of over 80 interviews with contemporary artists who use both color and print media in their work. In 2024 Berman was a Fulbright Senior Scholar in the Centre for Creative and Cultural Research at the (Australia).
